Printing and Publish

Yupp I know I said I wouldn't be back for awhile, but honestly? I really have nothing better to do with my time than to trek all the way to the library just so I can update this blog. Yupp, can't get rid of me that easily. ;)

Yargh, I have about two pages worth of topics waiting to be written. It was difficult choosing which to write today. And since I only have 33 minutes to finish this, I better get bloody on with it eh?

I was thinking about newspapers and encyclopeadias versus other types of non-print information. More specifially, why are print sources more trustworthy than the same information on the internet, or on television?

Seriously, if you read a headline in the newspaper, your probably more likely to believe it than if you read it online. Why's that? Because newspapers go through a tedious editing process to make certain that it's correct? Are you sure about that?

I'm not trying to make the case that you should trust wikipedia over the encyclopedia brittannica, but I will say this. Each brittanica article is reviewed by a small group of experts in that topic. Each Wikipedia article is reviewed and revised by millions of people.

Does that not say something about where the most up to date and relevant information is? Maybe, maybe not. But it sure says something.

Do you tend to trust the printed word more than a digital one? Why?
